Volunteers in action
See Our Volunteers
The Workhouse Prison Museum was founded and continues to be run by a core of dedicated volunteers. You are encouraged to join.
Museum volunteers receive training about the history of the DC Correctional Facility at Lorton. They are assigned an experienced mentor who will work with them until they are comfortable with talking with museum visitors. Volunteers are expected to work in the museum two afternoons per month.
Volunteers also assist with an on-going oral history project, vialis 40mg talking with and recording former administrators, cialis correctional officers, prisoners, and families associated with the prison.
A project to professionally catalog the museum’s extensive collection of photographs needs dedicated volunteers as well.
